On LG HVAC systems, do standard thermostats work, or only LG's own?
I have a PQRCUSA0 controller that does not allow setting different temperatures for different times.

Any standard thermostat should work, provided it is appropriate for type of system you have. Heat pumps and gas/electric units have slightly different wiring. Generally, though, the thermostat has 24 volt control wires, one for fan, one for cooling on/off, one for heating on/off, one for ground, and sometimes some extras depending on particular features or functions.
When you take off the old stat, take note of the wires and what terminals they are connected to, (Y, G, O etc.) and when you get the new stat, make sure it has those terminals and reconnect appropriately.
