Does anyone have experience with Allure vinyl flooring?
I am considering using the Allure vinyl flooring in my kitchen, mud room, living room, and dining room. I have read several reviews, and they seem to be mixed. One of the big concerns I have is with the edges coming up. Has anybody installed this floor and had it in their home for a substantial time period? Also, pictures would be GREATLY appreciated. I love the look of the flooring but my fiance is not sold on it yet. He wants to see pictures of an entire floor with the Allure, not just the sample pieces. Thanks so much!

I've had it in my living room and bedroom for four years, in the kitchen for 3 years. The kitchen door is my entry door. The flooring still looks good. The maple in the kitchen shows a few scuffs, the cherry in the living room is unmarked. I have two large dogs and I never take my shoes off when I come into the house. We often go to the beach and come back with sandy feet. The only place that has shown any wear was under my rolling office chair. When I realized, while washing the floor, that the part under the chair felt a bit rough, I made a chair pad from some of the Allure planks. Works great. I've had a few edges, the seams between the planks, rise a tiny bit, unnoticeable unless the light hits it the right way. I press them down again if I see any. The edges of the room have shown no sign of moving at all. I would put felt on any chair feet that were going to get dragged across the floor very much, but then maybe you vacuum often enough that you won't have a lot of sand scraping around under the feet..
People have come in here and thought the cherry flooring was wood until I told them it wasn't. The maple doesn't look quite as much like real wood, but it looks better than the two kinds of cheaper laminate I've had before. Both colours perform far better in terms of wear and waterproofness, it's nicer to walk on without that tap-tap noise laminate usually makes. Not as slick, either, which my older dog appreciates. It's much easier to install than laminate as long as you have a smooth surface to put it on, same as all vinyl flooring. And you don't need any special cleaning stuff. A mop and water works fine.
Another thing I like very much is that if a plank gets worn or damaged, replacing is very easy. You can't say that about laminate. I've had to tear up half a kitchen to replace a couple of laminate planks that got water damaged.
I'd be happy to send photos but haven't got a clue how to do it through yahoo. I'm very happy with this stuff and the price was very good compared to anything else I would have chosen.

Very good product. I have installed it several times. All jobs still look good. Sorry no pictures. You ll have to look at the Traffic Master Allure site to get a larger picture.
This product is very well geared to the DIY er. Easy to work with and since it s water proof its great for the areas you want.
One thing they won t tell you and should be done is to rent a roller to roll and set the seams well.
Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL

I installed this floor myself in the basement. Love it. I have had it for three years. Cleans well, and looks as good now as the day I finished it. Easy to do. I have two cats and one large dog. I have a dark walnut coloured planking. The floor is laying over cement with infloor heating and is lasting excellent even with all the heat. I recommend it. I gave my extra to my friend who used it in her entry and kitchen in her very busy house. She loves it so much they bought more to use throughout their whole main floor.

If you're questioning the purchase, and have read the reviews, why go any further? Purchase something your fiancee feels better with.
