A question to all R&S users , friend & contacts?

It has been a month since I was last on & I do not use this site very often anymore.

I have received many emails from my contacts upset about the advertisement emails I have been sending them (which I have not done) .I received a message from Yahoo saying suspicious activity has been happening with my account.

I have changed my pass word.

Do you think this will fix the problem ?

Has someone hacked my account ?

Do you have any advice ?

I feel bad that my friend have been subjected to this.

Yahoo! managed to get itself hacked not once, but twice! about a month or so ago. Imagine that. Mail was overrun with spambots, and some of us were being hit with up to 3000 (you read that correctly) unwanted messages per day. My guess is that your mail problems come from this episode, and although you feel badly for this it was not your fault. I'm sure your friends will understand.

Changing your password was a good idea. If your personal account was hacked, this may fix the problem, but in all honesty, I really don't know. Perhaps asking in the Yahoo! Answers mail section will net better results.

Has someone hacked your account? That's iffy. Again, I'd be asking these questions over in mail, or problems with service. Personally, I feel these mailings stem from the spambot attacks, but one never knows ...

I recently had the same problem. It was so embarrassing because I have many work related emails and people I rarely email, etc. I clicked on the Yahoo help question about spam coming from my email. It tells you to get another password. In fact you need a strong one with Caps and numbers mixed. When you send out emails put people under BCC. Anyway, I also went through my security provider which is McAfee and did some added features. Try that and if they problems isn't fixed contact Yahoo directly.

My advice: Don't sweat the small stuff. Those who know you know you didn't send these virus-type emails. I've received some from your address, and many not from you. And I've learned to recognize them because there is nothing in the subject line.

Using Apple products helps, as they are SOOO resistant to viruses. As far as I can tell, although I do receive them, none have come from my computer. It's just the sick use of an evil mind that comes up with these things and they should be prosecuted to fullest.

You could try getting in touch with Yahoo but don't expect a quick fix. There are just so many people with tiny minds who want to make trouble for others. Let it go, it's a worldwide problem, and like most things, eventually disappear.

Its like facebook. If you become a friend a spam makes the round of all you are in contact with. It can go on forever hitting contacts and their contacts so on, so on. These sights are only in it for the advertisement money, they use these subject sites as a lure.

I got a few of them and just hit the delete bar. No offense taken. I am sorry it happened. Some people just are misguided in their behavior. That is not your behavior. Agape.

I recommend deleting this question and never ever mentioning it's existence again as long as you live.
