I'd say it's definetely a unisex car. It's a really good buy if you ask me (from experience). However, I'd say save up a little more and get yourself a GTI :P

It's a car. Whether it is a chick or guy car depends on YOUR perception - nothing to do with the car.
Cars of that size are by far the most popular across all of Europe, as they are more effective in congested cities and narrow roads than larger heavier cars.
Of course, you have to make sure a car suits you. If it does not have power steering, can you turn the wheel easily? Does the seat move far enough forwards or back to get comfortable? Is it big enough to carry the passengers and stuff you expect? Can you afford the servicing and fuel costs? Do you like it? Does it perform well enough?
If all these are yes, then....
It's a chick car if you are a chick
It's a guy car if you are a guy

a) Why are you so concerned with whether it's a chick car or a guy car?
b) It is neither. I would not be surprised to see a person of either gender driving one.
c) Sure it's nice, if you're willing to take a chance on VW's spotty reliability. The TDI motor in that thing has a lot of low end torque, which makes for lots of driving fun, and it gets great fuel economy. The only problem is that VWs tend to have a lot of maintenance and repair issues, and they're expensive to fix.

That car seems popular among young males here in Southern California. Not to be confused with the VW Jetta which is more feminine in my opnion.
As long as it doesn't have a flower holder like the VW Beetle, then I think its a pretty sweet ride. Btw the Golf GTi looks more aggressive, therefore more masculine.

I think Golfs are unisex.
But either way, diesel cars get insane mileage. My dad used to have an '05 Passat that would get almost 600 miles to a tank (highway).

Are you serious? Car manufacturers do not make "guy cars" or "chick cars". They simply make cars for people to buy so they can make a profit and keep themselves in business.

This is a unisex car. No need to worry. There are lots of more important things to consider when buying a car, but I am no expert.
