  • Question for Young Earth Creationists?

I'm just curious: Do you believe dinosaurs walked alongside man? If not, what do you believe about dinosaurs?

I'm assuming there must be some differences between the conventional view and yours?

    Thanks!

  • Korean readers, please tell me the name of this giant robot series!?

    Hello,

I'm trying to figure out the name of the giant robot / super hero series represented in the following picture:

    http://oldtoy.net/skin/goods/detail/19863.jpg

Could you please have a look at the title and let me know what it would be in English?

Also, if you might happen to be able to provide links to further info on the series, that would be much appreciated.

    Thanks so much!

  • Jews, do you believe belief itself is not a requirement?

A Conservative Jewish friend of mine blew my mind recently by asserting that in Judaism, there is no requirement to believe, only to act. In other words, you are not condemned for failing to hold a belief in your heart or mind, as long as your behavior is in accordance with Judaism's standard of ethics and compassion.

    Can this be true?

    It seems so sane!

    So...

    Reasonable.

I don't generally expect sane or reasonable from any ancient religion.

I'm just hoping to get a feel for how prevalent her ideas are among Jews?

  • US friend being cyberstalked by UK resident. Call Interpol or other agency?

I have a friend being stalked, harassed, and threatened on Facebook and via e-mail by somebody in the UK. He's doing some really nasty stuff, and I've already advised her to contact the FBI's cybercrimes task force. However, since this guy's in the UK, I'm wondering if there's a similar agency she can call on that side of the pond?

Any Web site or contact info you can provide for this agency would be much appreciated.

  • When will Sandybridge motherboards be available again?

Somebody gave me a brand new Core i7 2600K CPU for free. This is a very nice thing. Unfortunately, all the socket 1155 motherboards have been pulled from store shelves due to Intel's recall of the Sandybridge chipset.

Does anybody have any idea when motherboards with the fixed chipset will be in stock? Any resources online providing this info?

    Thanks!

  • Where to buy guinea pig in Northern California?

My friends really wants to get a guinea pig, but I'm urging them not to buy one from one of the big chains like Petco, because I feel those chain pet stores aren't very good at keeping animals healthy, and I don't want them to wind up buying a sick one.

Do you know of any reputable dealers in the SF Bay Area which specialize in guinea pigs and can be trusted to sell my friends a guinea that's been properly cared for and is in good health?

    Thanks!

  • How to take screen shot while playing Fallout 3?

And PLEASE don't copy and paste generic instructions for taking a screen shot of your desktop or whatever. The normal methods don't work while you're in-game.

This is under Windows 7, by the way.

    Thanks.

  • What song is this in the video game Dirt2?

I'm curious about the song that plays when you're first getting oriented and then gets louder when you get your Subaru Impreza and are about to join the first race. The lyrics are something like "We ride together now..."

Just wondering what band that is and what the song's called.

    Thank you!

  • Is there a reputable genealogy site that won't try to take my money?

I'd be interested in researching my ancestry, but it seems when you search for this sort of thing, all you find is sleazy sites looking to sell you overpriced services. Can anybody recommend free sites that might contain useful data and tools?

    Thanks!

  • Are McDonald's WiFi hotspots left on all night?

I've heard that McDonald's restaurants now offer free WiFi. Does anybody know if the McDonald's restaurants in the SF Bay Area leave their WiFi hotspots active even during the hours when the restaurants are closed? I'm hoping I can sit in their parking lots in the middle of the night and use their WiFi.

Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks...

  • Can iMovie HD (AKA iMovie 6) import and edit MOD files?

I'm thinking about buying a JVC Everio camcorder that stores its files in the MOD format on SD cards. Anybody have any experience with this file type? In reading customer reviews of this camera, I'm getting the sense that this file format is a real problem for a lot of users. Are there any Mac users out there who've owned an Everio and/or dealt with movies in the MOD format? Any luck?

  • How do I mount a .bin file under Windows 7?

I've downloaded a game that's divided up between two .bin files. These are disk images, right? So how do I mount them? I tried downloading the free version of Alcohol, but I'm clueless as to how to use this to mount the .bin files. Heck, I don't even know if that's what Alcohol does. I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to Windows.

I'm assuming that .bin is, in fact a disk image format? Or is this some type of compression format, and I need to "unzip" these files?

    Thanks.

  • How do you remove HP Total Care Advisor from a Vista machine?

On my friend's Compaq Vista laptop, she constantly gets pop-up messages informing her that HP Total Care Advisor has stopped working. Can I get rid of this software the next time I get my hands on her computer? Is there any horrible danger to doing so?

  • How do I add a calendar to a Wordpress blog?

I'm making a blog for a recording artist, and I'd like for it to contain a calendar that lists upcoming tour and show dates. Those dates would have to be clickable so that they would then lead to a description of the upcoming event. Is there any easy way to do this?

  • Where there two different HP ratings for V6 Mustangs in 2009?

My friend has a 2009 Mustang Convertible, an automatic V6 model. She paid extra for some type of premium package and says that extra power was part of the deal.

I can't find any clear information on this on Wikipedia or elsewhere. Since I haven't ever seen two different horsepower figures listed for the V6 Mustang in 2009, I'm guessing that what she actually paid extra for was, among other things, shorter gearing in car's rear end. A more performance oriented final drive ratio would, of course, improve acceleration, thus creating the impression of added power even though the HP rating would be unchanged.

My other thought is that maybe her mustang came with a less restrictive exhaust, and therefore did have a few extra HP?

If anybody knows the exact HP figure for this car, I'd be very interested. It does seem to have really terrific acceleration for a non-V8 car.

  • Please translate this Asian writing!?

I'm embarrassed to admit I'm not sure which language this is. Probably Japanese or Chinese. I'm pretty sure it's not Korean. Anyway, if somebody could translate the final panel of the following comic strip, I'd be most appreciative!

  • How quick will the US version of the Tata Nano be?

I've heard that the home market Tata Nano takes about twenty seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph. Which, of course, is obviously quite slow. However, the US version of the car is apparently going to have an extra 25HP under the hood. It'll also weigh a little more, due to additional safety equipment. Anybody care to hazard a guess as to what sort of 0 to 60 time it'll be capable of?

  • Grammarians, help me out: "upper crest" vs. "upper crust"?

I'm currently involved in a conversation about word and phrase origins, and I pointed out that "upper crust," though in common usage, is wrong, and that it is a corruption of the correct term, which is "upper crest." Sadly, I can not find a reference to cite. I do recall reading about this somewhere or other, but I can't recall where I read it. Am I imagining things?

  • Where can I find 0 to 60 times for buses?

I've asked this before, and haven't gotten an answer, so I'm asking again. I'm just curious as to the 0 to 60 time, quarter mile time, top speed, and leteral G/skidpad ratings of the average commuter bus. Surely this type of information must exist somewhere?
