Furnace Blowing Cold Air (Intermittent)?

My furnace seems to be blowing cold air. The house stays at a constant 72 degrees (what it's set at), but I'm afraid that the unit may be in need of repair or replacement, or that it might be using more energy than necessary. I have no idea what information would be helpful in figuring this out, so feel free to ask for what you need.

Thank you very much in advance.

Keeping the house at 72 is expensive all by itself.

You would be surprised how much you can save by keeping it at 68.

That being said, if the temperature remains constant, it is not likely that there is anything significantly wrong with the heater.

I suggest having the unit cleaned and the filters changed.

The cold air may be more a perception issue than actual cold air.

Example: If you just got out of a warm shower, 72 degree air will feel very chilly, but if you just came in from outside, 72 degree air would feel quite hot.

Good luck, and I hope this helps.

not acquainted at the same time with your type of furnace yet digital, programmable thermostats have pushed me loopy. because it worked earlier replacing thermostats, do this... Get out the proprietors guide for the recent thermostat and how you may set the temperature manually (it will be hidden in a financial ruin referred to as "what if i bypass on holiday?", etc.) besides, attempt placing the temps manually for a lengthy time period. If it nonetheless acts goofy, call a pro. If it somewhat works nicely at the same time with your guide placing ameliorations, might want to be it needs to be carefully programmed again. Resetting the breaker may have brought about it to revert to the start of the quicker software. once you're effective that is programmed properly, be effective to modify the battery (each 6 months like smoke detectors) to keep this methodology saved even if there's a ability failure. sturdy success

have you set your fan to run all the time? If you have a thermostat, the fan switch should be set to "Auto" not "On".
