The Tamar question got deleted??!! GGRRR!?

That was not an offensive question (& I am going to answer it!)

Tamar is not a good example of rape because she WANTED to conceive. Which is why she dressed like a harlot & fooled the patron.

Genesis Chapter 38: 1-30.

Why did it get deleted?

Your question about Tamar is fair but you got it wrong the Tamar who was raped was the Daughter of King David (2 Samuel), it is not commonly mention in other scriptures cause it was a criminal act that brought shame to David's family, Tamar was raped by her half brother Amnon, this arouse the rage of Absalom (Tamar's brother) who eventually killed Amnon.

The Tamar mentioned in Genesis is the wife of Er whom God killed for being wicked, then she married Er's brother Onan, who would spill his sperm on the ground to avoid impregnating her, even when God had ordered him to give her sons, so God killed Onan too for his disobedience.

I've crossed the Tamar many a time - never had the inclination to rape it; too cold and grey.

I was just checking my answer -which was pretty good if I say so, myself. I was talking about all the other sins in the Bible from people we consider "good". Oh well. You are right. There was nothing wrong with the question.

I suspect the asker himself deleted it.
