This is a good example of how it should be a rule that we do not insult another persons question. Sometime the problem lies in the fact that we do not understand what the asker does. Of course there is such thing as unreasonable happiness. One in the midst of a manic episode could be extremely happy when it is not reasonable to be so. That would be unreasonably happy. Personally I can not imagine how enlightenment could bring about unreasonable happiness but I do realize that there are things that I do not understand. Perhaps the answer here is that the happiness only seems unreasonable to the less enlightened individual.

    Because they are self actualized.

Happiness, unreasonable happiness, what purpose doe it have, its as useless as unreasonable unhappiness.

If all one was was happy, be missing out on an awful lot of human experience.

One day the master announced that a young monk had reached an advanced state of enlightenment. The news caused some stir. Some of the monks went to see the young monk. “We heard you are enlightened. Is that true?” they asked.

    “It is,” he replied.

    “And how do you feel?”

“As miserable as ever,” said the monk.

Great question! Read Dr. David R. Hawkins' book "I" where he goes into great detail about the awareness of enlightenment. (Also see"Transcending Levels of Consciousness"; chapter on the level of enlightenment)
