Under which modern Presidents were the most jobs created? How did the Bush Tax Cuts fare?
Under Bill Clinton the most jobs were created in total and per year. Yes, taxes were raised on the highest earners under Clinton.
Under George W. Bush the least jobs were created in total and per year and the worst record on jobs being created since the government began keeping records. The Bush Tax Cuts did not create jobs then and so saying that they will create jobs in the future is baseless.
Under Jimmy Carter more jobs were created per year than under Ronald Reagan but more jobs in total were created under Reagan--he had two terms vs. Carter's one term.

The question is really two different topics. The Clinton administration created the most jobs because of innovation. Bringing the internet to the public was made possible by Gore and signed into law by Bush with the 1991 Information Super Highway Bill. This created an entire new industry and many jobs for those technically savvy. Also, under Clinton DNA mapping was discovered as well as stem cell research. These innovations led to many jobs being created in bio-tech and research. I give Clinton credit because a lot of these innovations came from grants to universities. Even today most of the employment opportunities are still in tech, medical, and education. So, the Clinton years brought innovation back to the U.S. and created what we have today in the way we communicate, extend life, and educate people. A lot of good things come from budget surpluses and strong economies.
As for tax cuts, these do not create jobs or bring on innovation. However, it depends on where you cut taxes. Corporate taxes should remain low so that corporations can have capital to expand and create jobs. And these corporate tax cuts did work under Bush to some extent but the savings was spent overseas by corporations leaving a jobs vacuum in the states. As a result, the Bush administration netted more jobs lost than created. Another mistake by Bush was cutting personal taxes for everyone. With his spending on two wars and tax cuts that were unpaid for, his spending crowded out any good the tax cuts were doing which was none. So, his policies of deficit spending was a disaster for the economy because corporations expanded overseas citing high taxes as a reason and the wealth of the country was controlled by the wealthy basically eliminating the middle class. Jobs were lost, homes were being lost as a result, and the economy was in and out of recession. So, the Bush tax cuts, although were given with good intentions, were a disaster because there were no policies to cut spending to bridge the gap for the loss of revenue.
Unfortunately, Obama is extending those policies just so he can extend unemployment benefits. Bill Clinton would of closed down the government until the Republicans capitulated in their quest to extend tax cuts to the people that don't need them and is vital to paying down our debt. I don't see jobs being created anytime soon because it's demand for goods and services that necessitate job creation and companies won't hire until they see an increase in demand for their products.

I think the best of times were under Clinton's last 2 / 3 years. Service jobs like retail and fast food were practically going door to door begging people to work and were giving wages and benifits double minimum.
I think the first couple of years of Bush 2 that conservative appologists so often quote as the gravy years - were just momentum carried over from Clinton. I think the economy would have remained flat, and eventually would have started to crumble under the popping of various bubbles, regardless of 9-11.

The Bush Tax cuts sure did not work unless you are a millionaire. The bush tax cuts accelerated a process that started under Reagan, the largest redistribution of wealth in US history sending wealth to the rich and driving the middle class to the poor house. His tax cuts and virtual cessation of the enforcement of securities regulation and immigration law destroyed the US economy.

Clinto presided over the single biggest economic expansion in history - but you won't hear that from Republicans. There's a LOT of things you won't hear from Republicans.
The GOP has been faking reality for quite some time, and they ain't likely to stop anytime soon. It's going to take a huge defeat in 2012 to get 'em to stop faking reality - after voters realize that the tax cuts won't work.
The fact is, the tax cuts are SPENDING - it's revenue that the government no longer has coming in. The only way the Repubs are going to hold the line is massive cuts to the military, Social Security, and Medicare - which are going to make a whole lot of people hoppin' mad. Those three items are GOP bread-and-butter in the vote department.
The GOP has rewarded their wealthy donors with tax cuts to buy their Ferraris, French wine, and trips to the Riviera, none of which are going to create many US jobs. They've been playing a political shell-game for years - and despite the teaparty charade, it will work against them in '12.

But you liberals keep saying it takes years for government policy changes to take effect, so you can claim the Democrats are not responsible for the meltdown of 2008 even though they gained control of Congress in the 2006 elections.
So using that logic, any job creation during the Clinton years was a delayed result of policies that were created by Reagan and the elder Bush.

Wrong Employment amongst African Americans was cut in half during the Reagan administration and he didn't advocate affirmativa action, Employment over all rose 7 out of the 8 years he served as president, family income rose 12% and 17 million jobs in total were created.
I know you won't believe me so i'll find a link but trust me Raegan was a remarkable President.

After the Bush tax cuts we had 52 straight months of job growth, the longest period in history than came the Housing bubble which caused a recession and jobs to decrease.

Reagan = 237,143 jobs/month after Democrats conceded to his fiscal policy. (MUCH worse until then)
Bush = 165,685 jobs/month while his fiscal policy was heeded. (Worse before and MUCH worse after)
Clinton = 131,625 jobs/month upon "inheriting" almost 100,000/month MORE than that (MUCH better after signing-on to GOP policy but THIS is the period you're bragging about)
Carter = 110,583 jobs/month
