Why won't my Van & Heater warm up?
I have a 2006 Dodge Caravan, as it has gotten a lot colder recently I have noticed that my Van doesn't always want to warm up (yes, I am giving it time). The Temperature Gauge stays at the coolest mark or just a fraction above and the heater barely works. A couple of times this wasn't the case, so I am unsure what to think of the inconsistency. Please let me know what you think, any educated suggestions are appreciated! Let me know if there is other information needed. Thanks & Happy Holidays!

it sounds like maybe the thermostat is bad. try putting a piece of card board in front of the radiator to stop the air flow and see if that heats it up.. if so then I'd say thermostat needs replaced.

because it is taking so long to warm up, i think that the thermostat has failed and is in a fail safe mode ( wide open). replace it and every thing should go back to normal. if i am right on that, there was a reason why it failed though. do you remember a time recently that it got really hot if not over heated?
