Microsoft Flight Simulator X (FSX)?

Hi!

Recently, i bought a FSX for myself. I am still new, and i don't know how to play it. After trying, i managed myself to fly. But there are still some questions that i don't know. Here are the problems:

1. What is the difference between ILS landing and Visual? Which one is easier?

2. I managed myself to follow the ILS instructions. I managed to navigate my way to the destination airport. The thing is, i cannot land! So please tell me how to use ILS, and how to land in ILS mode landing!

3. About Taxi

How to taxi properly?

I tried but failed. I do know that there are two important buttons (F2 and F3) to control the speed. The problem is, i installed FSX to my HP Notebook. The function of F1-F2, etc. buttons are changed to HP's functions, like Sleep Mode, Volume Adjustment, etc. How to get the normal F1-F2, etc. buttons functions? And what should i do to control right or left when doing a taxi? Rudder?

4. Airplane's Wheel.

Every time i tried to do turn, not using rudder, with the four ways navigation buttons, the turn will be very sharp? What's actually happening???

Thank you very very much! :D

An ILS is an instrument landing system approach. Its a procedure that requires ideally someone (or use of an in game tutorial) to teach you as well as special maps called approach plates. A visual approach is just that. You see the airport? Yes? OK great, just land the plane. Visual approaches are always easier. ILSs are complex. On the surface you're following two lines. One horizontal and one vertical located on the VOR display or possibly overlayed on the GPS or FMS unit. One line keeps you lined up with the runway while the other keeps your altitude where it should be. Its best to actually use the in game tutorials (or again, read up on the subject or even have someone you know who flies show you) they have to learn it as learning to tune the proper ILS frequency, properly correct for glide path and course, read the plates and when to go missed are fairly complex skills.

You use the rudder to taxi and may just have to change the game's controls to a button you can actually use to use the rudder, or just purchase a cheap joystick, many of which have a rudder control.

When you hit the left or right button you're actually moving the ailerons which are intended to bank the aircraft while in flight. On the ground at a fast taxi you are actually lowering the wing, forcing the center of gravity down and to the lowered wing side of the aircraft similar to how a stunt driver might turn far to sharply at speed to execute a 180 degree turn.

I'd seriously recommend doing their virtual flight training tutorial. It will answer all your questions and teach you what you need to know for FSX. Without it, as a non pilot it can be extremely confusing.

The function keys should work on an HP notebook the same as they do on every other computer on the planet. The only way they work to put the computer in sleep mode, or for volume is if you somehow have the alt or fn (function) key locked.

I have had numerous HP notebooks and have never had one do what you are talking about with the function keys with FSX, or any other game.

You should really consider buying a joystick with the twist function. It will make your game more enjoyable and functional.
