how do I remove the top off a washing machine?
I removed the screws but for some reason the right front seems locked in from beneath. Is it due to a snap or slide in attachment placement? thanks
I tried looking up the model and brand and all it gives me is instructions for removing the agitator. I need to get the top off before I can do anything. Any help out there?

most of them are different. You would need to know the model and the brand. Try looking up that brand in google and see what you come up with.

i'm assuming its a top-loading machine. if its is, there should be two clips , one on the right and one on the left, holding the top down. get a putty knife and slide it between the top and the base. there should be a small opening all around the machine between the tp and the base.
unplug the machine from the wall outlet. take your putty knife and run it in the opening until you hit the clip. push the clip in until it releases. do the same thing on the other side and the top should lift up.

You'll need the shop manual. It could be a clip you have to reach inside to remove, it could be a clip you have to manipulate the top to release, it could be a screw or bolt you have to get to from the inside.

Who's the manufacturer? What kind of machine is it? I'd be able to tell you in a second if only I knew...
