If there were a Heaven, what percentage of Christians would actually make it in?

Explain your answer, please.

Update:

@8829Michael: Wow - 144,000 - that's it? Christianity is nearly 2000 years old. That's less than 2/10 of 1 percent of Christians alive today. Wow. If you figure it out going all the way back to Peter, that means you have a better chance of winning the lottery - I mean the big game with the impossible odds lottery.

Serious answer: This question is impossible to answer, because the only person who can judge a human being is God. Catholics, amongst other Christian religions, believe in an all merciful and forgiving God. Catholics believe the only way a person could be condemned to hell is if they dies with "Serious un-repented mortal sins on their soul". That quote basically means that that you need to do something truly evil and then not be the slightest bit sorry for it in order to go to hell. Who is to say what meets these qualifications, the Catholic church views this as a grey area. It is simple said that God is our only judge, and that he is forgiving and merciful.

P.S. I hope some butthead doesn't come on here throwing up quotes from the Old Testament saying things like "Yeah, your God sounds MERCIFUL and LOVING to me". The writings of the old testament are to be taken with a grain of salt, they are influenced by the cultures who authored them and were often used to scare people into obeying cultural laws. Many sects of Judaism aka Jews, use the same books and the same stories in there holy scriptures. While every religion views these writings differently I can tell you that my faith believes that these writing teach undeniable spiritual truths aka morals to every story that are supposed to help us with our faith.

Well, I don't know how experienced with the bible you are, but I will try to do my best to explain it to you.

The Bible explains that 144,000 "anointed" ones will go and rule with God and His son in heaven. In Revelation 6:4 it says, "And I heard the number of those who were sealed, a hundred and forty-four thousand, sealed out of every tribe of the sons of Israel." And it goes on to explain which tribes they'll come from.

And in 1 Peter 2:9 it says, "But YOU are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for special possession, that YOU should declare abroad the excellencies of the one that called YOU out of darkness into his wonderful light." So that says that only a specific group will go up to heaven and be with God and His son, ones that He selects to work with him. But not everyone that dies will go to heaven.

So I don't know an exact percentage, but 144,000 is the exact number.

I hoped that this helped, and if you have any questions you can contact your local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and they can help you more. Or you can contact me at 2m2tmitchell@sbcglobal.net

All who had had their sins forgiven in the previous dying, so possibly all training Christians who had no longer suffered a very unexpected surprising dying. Roman Catholic doctrine by skill of permitting prayers for the souls of the ineffective after dying might, if actual, enable even those loss of existence all immediately to get admitted if that they had had left in the back of adequate worried acquaintances to do them this favour. this way of "cheating" damnation replaced into unacceptable to maximum Protestants (it replaced into precisely between the failings that they have got been protesting approximately). Many person Christian sects believe interior the condemnation of all "unbelievers," now and lower back defined as all those no longer adhering to their specific sect. yet another vexed difficulty is that of how forward for such stable those with purely a sin or 2 who had by no skill had a danger to get carry of the religion, having died in the previous the delivery of Christ or by no skill been reached by skill of any missionaries. My own mindset to all it fairly is to declare that the trip spot of my eternal soul (assuming I definitely have one) is a private remember between me and the Almighty which it would be blasphemy even to hunt suggestion from every physique else. Am I saved? Brother (or sister); it fairly is merely none of your enterprise! Are you saved? merely be sure you by no skill sin and you're able to have not have been given something to rigidity approximately!. Constantine the great took care to no longer settle for baptism (and the accompanying absolution) until ultimately he lay on his deathbed, and would desire to have not have been given any danger of doiing, nor time to do, any incorrect in the previous assembly St. Peter.

There is no way to know. Not everyone who says "Lord, Lord" will be admitted into Heaven; Jesus said so in Matthew 7:21.

IF they are truly Christians, then all of them. God will not turn them away as they have chosen to accept Him into their hearts and follow Him. Yes, Christians sin, God knows that. All sin is equal in the eyes of God, but He also forgives. Unless they turn from Him (reject Him) and worship Satan, they will go to heaven.

He knows we sin and he knows our hearts.

They *might* make it to that 144,000, but nearly every Christian is convinced that only his or her own church or denomination will make it and the rest will be shipped off with the murderers and rapists.

If he doesn't ? then he was never a Christian, You don't wear the Tag Christian like a badge, It isn't inherited, It is a transformation, a Christian is One who has accepted Jesus as Lord and savior and has the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, calling oneself a Christian Doesn't make one a Christian.

  • HEAVEN is real. and theres no set proportion on how many christians are permitted entry, the bible doesnt say... i wish it did tho lol
