Sid the Kid, loosen up?

Sid, I love ya man, great player, going to be in the top 10 all time for sure.

One thing though, when you are being interviewed try and come across as though you have some personality, always deadpan face and monotone voice.

Follow Ovi's lead and have some fun with it.

Just my opinion.

so, not only does he have to score goals to make you happy, but he has to know have a more exuberant personality to appease you?

maybe its something called professionalism. when hes asked a question, he thinks about it and answers it. its not like hes joking around with buddies. im sure he does have a great personality, but he doesnt have top buddy up to every reporter who asks him a question, and he always cuts right to the point, which i like anyways.

    great question man.

Ovi is terrible. he is just an arrogant show off and every team has learn just put a body on him and he can't do crap. Crosby doesn't like the spotlight, that's why he is smart by lining with mariou lemiuex unlike ovi making a dvd about himself? How pathetic. No one should strive to be like him

I totally agree. He is just very boring in the media and I would like to see him go in a chris pronger direction or a jeremy roenick direction. He doesn't have to stir stuff up I guess but it wouldn't hurt for him to be a little bit more outspoken rather than just sit in his shell and say everything so blandly. This is purely for my pleasure though and I understand why he wouldn't do it. Sid is extremely popular and there is no reason to be outspoken in the media, it can really only hurt crosby to be outspoken.

i'm a huge sid fan so i've seen videos of him interacting outside of interviews and he's actually really funny. i think the people saying that he doesn't have a personality are completely wrong. he just tries to come off as very level-headed and very politically correct in interviews which causes him to sound a little boring, but he definitely has a funny side. as far as him changing his demeanor, i don't think he should. it's fine and it works for him. he makes it more about the hockey than about anything else and you gotta respect that.

Any time you devote yourself to something completely you become tense. You wanna know why doctors, engineers, lawyers, scientists, CEOs etc... have no personality? It is because they devote their lives to getting to where they are, and if they want to stay on top, they have to continue that trend. It is difficult to find time to watch tv and be relevant with the current events when you are working all the time.

Why can't Sid "loosen up"? Because he is on top of his game right now, the more time he devotes to it, the more rewards are demonstrated by his on ice play. You want success in life, you have to make sacrifices, simple as that.

Ovechkin is a punk.... Sidney Crosby is a humble man. He doesn't need to be loud and talk trash. He just takes care of his business on the ice.

As long as he puts the puck in the net, I couldn't give two sh!ts about his personality during interviews.

  • Ever think maybe he's just tired from kicking *** game after game?

    How's that working for "Ovi?"

Sid is who he is..........why the hell should he put on some fake persona to appease anyone? He shouldn't be himself.....even if it is "deadpan" or "monotone?"

Jonathan Toews is a similar personality....seems to work for him as well.

    Just my opinion.

Source(s): EDIT-Oliver Pets.....actually, while trying to come across as a smartass, you inadvertantly discovered the biggest reason why Crosby is excelling and Ovechkin is struggling. Crosby personality make-up is such that he goes home in the summer and works on his game, namely his weaknesses (all of the sudden he leads the league in goal scoring and face-offs after working hardest on that aspect).......meanwhile, Ovechkin's personality is that after an Olympic flop and another playoff tumble, he goes home, drinks vodka and sleeps with the women who can only stand the look of his because he's paying. Boom. Nice. So, in reality, you are right while trying to be funny and wrong. LOL

You're right Bob, the only reason Ovi is struggling right now is because he has a personality.
