What kind of spider is this?

Can anyone identify this spider for me?

    It is a lycosid spider, ie. a member of the Lycosidae. Full identification is impossible without an examination of the genitalia but it is probably a species of Pardosa. These are commonly known as wolf spiders.

    Incidentally it is a female. This can be established by a look at the palps (the "feelers" at the front of the head.). In the male these are strongly swollen at the tips; your specimen's are not.

    Yup, common Wolf spider. I have found these in the garage and in the woods. They do pretty well almost anywhere, and I believe they live in most of North America. By the way, they eat lots of other pesky bugs, so it's actually good to have a few of them around!

    In simple terms it's a wolf spider, don't prevoke it to bite you because it will hurt like hell, and can be dangerous around small children and elderly......hope it helps :)

    the common funnel web spider "i have them all over my backyard in little webs that look like tunnels. i get them in my sink every once in while. i dont know if theyre poisonous or not
