Where can I Find a Senior Chat Room that is not all about meeting eligible men?

Delphi. It's free registration and full of forums most of which have chats. The chat box is easy to read, you can enlarge the font. You can skip the forums and go straight to the chats. Of coarse not all the chats are older ppl. But many are. You click on the profile of a person before you go into the chat room, and try to find ppl your own age. And yes, there's many there where they're just talking. Not looking for anything else then friendship.

Among friends, Integrity first then fun, and Under a friendly moon all have older ppl that just want to talk. The leader of 'under a friendly moon is a lovely senior lady from the Netherlands.

Each year, it seems that someone makes a valid attempt to start up a senior chat room & each one ends up falling by the wayside due to trolls, haters, scam artists & cons. The the pervy sex site people show up & the show's over!

Just be aware that these chat rooms are short-lived & your name & email address ends up getting passed around due to security issues & such, when the site closes down.

It's the sole reason I use Yahoo!Answers for emails & communications... & if, per chance, I happen to come across a person or 2 who seems to be worth it, I will share my personal email address with them. It's one that I created just for the purpose of introductions & it does not divulge my true name on it to the other person I am sending it to!

I have met a few nice people who weren't out to sell my email address to others for a profit.

Then I have met a jerk or two & had to create a new email account & leave the old one fall my the wayside & disappear into space.

I am also a senior citizen who would love to find a chat board like you mentioned. So far the only ones I have seen were for dating seniors and that is not what I want.

Would love to chat about gardening, pets, cooking or anything that comes to mind. If you find one, please post it here.

Somebody posted a link to one here once, but I went there and there were only a few people there. I think you want a forum like this, without the hassle. Maybe someone will post it again. It was called something like Old Farts. I'd love to participate in chats with people of a certain age who have varied thoughts and opinions with no name calling. I don't know if that's possible on the internet.

They have chat rooms on AOL. I have seen them on gardening and cooking. On AOL you can start your own chat room.

I have AOL for free. I some times open a chat room that deals with anxiety disorders. It takes some time but, people do arrive.

All of you, that are already friends on this site could, open a room and chat with each other.

I do use a different name on AOL, for privacy.

my husband and i met in a chatroom 7 years back, all was well until we got the internet back now we are getting divorced because he 'fell in love' with somebody living in america (we live in uk). How can you be in love with someone who you have never met? Think so much of them and that your whole world is gonna change completely? My advice to you is dont bother who's to say if you move over there they wont keep going online and finding more people?

That's funny. I was thinking the same thing myself. I resist going to the closest senior club because I don't want to sit around talking about medications or aches and pains. I'll be watching the answers to your question and hope something positive comes of it. In the meantime,good luck to you.

I don't know about chat rooms, but there is yahoo groups section that probably has a group on gardening. Have you been to eons.com? It's for Boomers .Lots of groups.

Why don't you two on here chat with each other just go in to each other guest book and chat..Just click on the pulse or profile of the person you want to talk to and click on guest book and type in a message to get started..good luck=)
