You only need to replace if there is a problem, on a chain drive motor the water pump is driven from the drive belt not the chain. they are lying to you.
I work for a dealer and I hate when I hear this because it makes me look bad.

Its a recommendation if you are hearing a ticking sound under the hood. Usually timing chains don't need servicing until something goes wrong. Timing belts on the other hand have to be change often. Don't change it until you think it needs it. It's a expensive job dealer's just want you to change things prematurely all the time so the can make money. Some dears are charging up to $140 an hour now in a shop. Go to a independent workshop.

Dealer rip-off. The Passport to Performance does not list a timing chain replacement schedule because the chain should last the life of the engine.

A Toyota should run longer than 100,000 miles before this needs to be done, I would`nt worry about it for another 50,000 .miles, or so, will you have the car by then? I would be more worried about the fan belts, they wear out faster than a timing chain. I think the dealer is just wanting some work to do. and earn some money. it don`t hurt to change it but I think it is unnecessary. Bye

I think it should be good for the "life" of the engine - unless it starts slapping around and making noise. And - i am pretty sure it doesn't "lead to the water pump". The water pump is driven off the serpentine belt or an accessory belt. Toyota owners manuals (strangely) usually dont have maintenance intervals in them. The maintenance schedule is in the separate warranty booklet. Look in there for the schedule.

Timing chains don't need to be replaced, its one of the reasons why Toyota changed from timing belt to timing chain, however after 100,000 miles it would be a good idea to check the water pump.

No a ripoff. But...is it timming chain or timming belt.
Old car use TImming chain (like a bicycle chain and it is metal), it goes for a long long time
and I am not sure that need to be changed. Check manual.
TIming belt is another story, it is a rubber belt (because it make the car run quieter).
That has a life and normally is 75,000 to 100,000 but check your manual.
Normally, you can extract extra 50% and it is ok but it depends on your driving condition.
Thanks
