Dog whimpering no cause?
Malti-poo is 9 years old we have had him for 2 years.
He is eating normally, his bowels are normal, he still barks when someone approaches
the door, had treats with no issues, brushed him out and he never whimpered then,
saw one flea and will medicate in the morning since
I ran out of the stuff last month we usually use Sentry.
Never seen him like this before.. its not constant just one in awhile he whimpers its just odd.

Has he had his teeth cleaned lately - he may have an abcessed tooth - or check his ears - if you see black crusty stuff - he could have an ear infection. If he continues this behavior, have him checked out by your vet. Dogs are pretty stoic usually, so if he's whimpering off and on, there must be something that is causing him pain.

Be careful of the meds you use for fleas , any over the counter stuff can be deadly if used incorrectly. A normal bath will get rid of one flea. Small breeds are prone to disc problems called intervertebral disc disease which is when the cushioning of disc turns hard and this can happen in the neck or lower spine area, can happen suddenly or over time. A regular x ray may not pick this up but a myelogram may need to be done which is an x ray with dye. If he has stopped jumping on furniture or is reluctant to go up steps , disc is more probably. These breeds are also prone to luxating patella's , knee problem. Keep him well rested with outings for potty only and take him to your vet if it seems to be getting worse.

well all i know is that they whimper for a reason they dont just whimper for fun something may still be wrong let the vet handle it they need to find out why your dog is whimpering

TAKE HIM TO THE VET.
Pet-store flea meds are poison. You may have poisoned your dog. Dogs don't whimper for "no cause."
How bad will you feel if he dies?

Dogs don't whimper for no reason. Schedule him in with your vet. Any time your dog's behaviour, energy level, or habits change suddenly it indicates he needs veterinary attention.

There has to be a cause and the vet needs to find it. We would be stupid to even guess
Sentry can be dangerous it is best to stick with things like Frontline
