Have you ever met someone you felt was a "better person" than you?
Would you agree with me that a person is superior or inferior, not because of IQ, or material things, or social status, etc, but because of the good things they do or do not do? Have you ever met someone whom you felt was a "better person" than you? What did you observe about them that made them seem to be a "better person" than you?

I've never met anyone better than me. Nobody is above or below anybody else. That's why I cannot accept this verse: "Treat others as better than yourselves." It makes no sense because there's no such thing as 'better than myself.' Since there's no one better than myself, but instead we're all equally as important, then this is an impossible situation and therefore a flawed statement. This confusion, created by the author of the Bible, like so many other verses, is the reason why other Christians and I cannot see eye to eye and why I try and pass off any religious argument that they pose on me.

Yes, I have met a few people I would consider better than me in some ways.
I have to admit I am not the best christian at times, and a few people Dh and I know are very devout, and things to seem to land in their lap because of their extreme faith, surprisingly. Last year they needed a car before their school semester started, and guess what? the day before their school started they received a free car from someone that said they asked God who they should give it to.

I foster my niece and through the fostering organisations I have met some decent kind loving people that have changed a child's life for the better.
Some of these people have given up their whole lives to try to help a child develop into a stable adult.
I have also met people that have had such a bad deal in life it puts my silly problems into perspective.
I admire lots of people.

Yes. Their faithfulness in all things concerning the glory of God according to Scripture. They were not perfect but I felt that they were truly close to God by their everyday behaviour and demeanor. They have this sense of closeness in their relationship with Jesus Christ. It is how they prayed sincerely and biblical consistency with its teaching. The things they do and talk about is very different than others who profess to be believers in Christ. They are loving.

Yes.
My younger sister (age 16) never falls victim to impatience or complaint. While I get all stressed and obsessive about traveling and not doing my daily routine or simply people violating my personal space or random changes of plans, she glides through them like a rock and NEVER complains. When people are rude, I'll often be the one looking to get them in trouble for it; she NEVER does that.

You're right. My Mother was a better person than I am. She had the patience and love that I have never equaled.
