Where can I dispose of alkaline batteries?
I don't want to throw them away in with the regular trash, as they are very toxic. Are these batteries even recyclable?

I know that "Batteries Plus" has a battery disposal box. I don't know if they are for customers only, or not.
It's very good that you even think of this, I'm glad to see someone taking the initiative to look. I quit using those types of batteries years ago, for that reason. I use all nicad rechargables, which you can get, and dispose of at "Batteries Plus".
I believe that all auto parts stores have battery disposal also, but I don't know if they carry that to the alkaline battery level. The batteries they dispose of are primarily Lead / acid batteries.
