No if you read the magicians nephew he was just a boy who went there and that's when narnia was made. You should read it. It also explains the wardrobe.

Of course if you read the novels, you'll have to decide if you want to read them in the order that they were published or the chronological order of the stories. It's a dilemma that many Narnia readers have to deal with.

no, the professor in lion/witch/wardrobe is professor kirke, aka digory kirke ...he went to narnia when he was a boy in "the magician's nephew".
