What is a good beginners .45?
I have experience with .22 and 9mm pistols but not really much with .45s. I'm planning on purchasing a .45 asp soon but I don't which brand would best suit a beginner. Which brands of .45s do you think would be best as a starter .45, preferable between $500-$750. Thanks.

Springfield makes a good .45. I don't own a Glock, but many people swear by them. I think Ruger makes an inexpensive .45 ACP as well. I have a Ruger 9mm. Never had a problem with it.

It's not so much starter, it's what features do you want in the 45?
Do you want classic heavy steel? Would you rather take advantage of modern polymer technology and safety systems? Do you want a DA trigger as an option, or strictly SA? How about magazine capacity?
When you've got an idea on what features you deem important, that'll tell you where to start looking.

Probably everyone is going to say a Glock because that is all anyone really knows.
I like Colt's myself for .45. If I ever get my pistol license I will probably be going for a Walther PPK but I am not entirely sure if that takes a .45
