Is their any truth to the following or just another sexist joke?

Husband Store

A store that sells new husbands has opened in New York City , where a woman may go to choose a husband. Among the instructions at the entrance is a description of how the store operates:

You may visit this store ONLY ONCE! There are six floors and the value of the products increase as the shopper ascends the flights. The shopper may choose any item from a particular floor, or may choose to go up to the next floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the building!

So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband. On the first floor the sign on the door reads:

Floor 1 - These men Have Jobs

She is intrigued, but continues to the second floor, where the sign reads:

Floor 2 - These men Have Jobs and Love Kids.

'That's nice,' she thinks, 'but I want more.'

So she continues upward. The third floor sign reads:

Floor 3 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, and are Extremely Good Looking.

'Wow,' she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going.

She goes to the fourth floor and the sign reads:

Floor 4 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Good Looking and Help WithHousework.

'Oh, mercy me!' she exclaims, 'I can hardly stand

it!'

Still, she goes to the fifth floor and the sign reads:

Floor 5 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Gorgeous, Help with Housework, and Have a Strong Romantic Streak.

She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor, where the sign reads:

Floor 6 - You are visitor 31,456,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please. Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store.

PLEASE NOTE:

To avoid gender bias charges, the store's owner opened a New Wives store just across the street.

The first floor has wives that love sex.

The second floor has wives that love sex and have money and like beer.

The third, fourth, fifth and sixth floors have never been visited.

I would say this joke is extremely funny because there is some truth to it. So many of my friends have gotten married because they met a woman much like the women in the second store, and so many of the women I have known who have been married have left pretty amazing men for petty reasons. This is not true in ALL cases, but when I look at my female coworkers or the women I am acquaintances with, I would say it is pretty true. I work with a woman who has a husband who made over 400K per year, paid ALL of her bills, did not expect her to contribute to the household bills at all, bought her a new car every 2 years, and told her to spend all of the money she made with her high paying job on herself. She even has a maid to do the housework, laundry and pick up the kids from school.

She is thinking about filing for divorce because she is "unfulfilled" by the man she is currently married to and they are going to counseling to "try and make it work." She asked us about it when we were hanging out before a meeting and I flat out told her she will NEVER find another man who will treat her that well. She just sighed and said that she knew that and continued to talk about how she was unhappy. Honestly, I think happiness is a state of mind, and this woman will never be satisfied regardless of the man in her life. I expect at the end of her life she will end up alone and have no one to blame but herself.

Ha! that's hilarious. there is rather varied reality to that and that i might think of that those females felt like the precise floor might have adult males with each and every thing that adult males on the decrease flooring had yet with the addition of wealth.

I would have thought that visiting the higher floors would be out of mere curiosity, not an impossibility to be pleased.

I would of stopped at 3.

I wouldn't call either of them sexist. They certainly are generalizations, but are most often true due to how gender roles play into society. Personally, I got a giggle from both jokes. Peace.

lmao, alright there's some truth to that. But that only shows that men are easily impressed, which isn't always good.
