It's only a question of your tastes. Bitters, Fruit Juices, Lemonades or soda waters, other alcohol, wines & liqueurs. You can even add Cream to some of them. It's very versatile. Less expensive standard drinks would be Gin Squash, Gin & Tonic, Martinis (Vermouth) etc. where there's only 1 or 2 alcohol ingredients.

Gin is a very versatile spirit and is used in more classic cocktails than anything else. Don't be too bummed that you don't like the Gin & Tonic. The bitter quinine taste of the tonic is not everyone's cup of tea. However, you can mix gin with Rose's Lime Juice in a 1:1 ratio and you'll have a gimlet. (This is basically the only acceptable application to not use fresh lime juice.) A few more examples: Mix gin with dry vermouth in a 4:1 ratio and you'll have a dry martini. Mix gin with dry vermouth and sweet vermouth in an 8:1:1 ratio and you'll have a perfect martini. 2 parts gin, 1 part fresh lemon juice, a tablespoon of sugar, mixed and topped off with soda water is a Tom Collins. Mix gin with sweet vermouth and Campari in a 1:1:1 ratio and you've got a Negroni. The Salty Dog is 4 parts grapefruit juice and 1 part gin. A Bronx is 3 parts gin, 1 part sweet vermouth, 1 part dry vermouth, 1 part orange juice. The White Lady is 2 parts gin, 1 part Cointreau, 1 part lemon juice. And if you really like the taste of gin, mix two shots of gin with five or six drops of Angostura bitters to create Pink Gin, which is the most hardcore drink I know (with the girliest name).

The classic mix is with tonic water. However, most soft drinks will mix well with gin (or vodka), such as Orange Crush, 7-Up, Mountain Dew, Dr. Pepper. You can also buy prepared mixes (in a supermarket) to make a Gin Collins and others.

Hendrick's Gin over crushed ice, add bitter lemon, dash of club soda and thinly sliced cucumbers in it. Fantastic afternoon cocktail.
Otherwise Tangueray Gin - tonic and thinly sliced lemon in it.
Use tall glass.
