Since Christmas celebrates Christ's birthday, what are you giving Him for Christmas?
Assuming you may have already given Him your heart, what will you be doing for someone else in His name? Jesus said, if you have done it unto the least of these, you have done it unto me. God Bless

i'm volunteering at a nursing home, visiting and praying with the elderly. i also went Christmas caroling this week with my church. i also gave homemade Christmas cookies to my neighbors and invited them to our children's Christmas program this sunday. that's about it for me this year. i have no $$ to give to the poor, or i would be doing that as well.

Christians expected this - it really is not an exact date, in spite of the indisputable fact that the reality is that once St Patrick went to remodel lots of the pagans, they celebrated "xmas" or "iciness Solstice" so dissimilar those holidays were replaced with Jesus' birthday (12/25) and Easter (springtime). The Christians felt on the time that it would want to be an a lot less complicated transition for the pagans in the adventure that they'd the celebrations at about a similar cases in the course of the 12 months. i'm catholic and we do not take a literal interpretation of the bible (like the baptists, protestants, lutherans, etc) - so i'm no longer positive how they settle for this into their doctrine, yet this has been surpassed down from author to author because the reality. it really is why the pagans typically critisize Christians with reference to Christmas/Easter - saying that we are fairly celebrating xmas/Solstice, etc....yet we are no longer, they in basic terms do no longer have the historic historic past. i desire this facilitates.

That is a very good question. I've never thought of that. makes me think. he's had my heart all my life, but I think that I will give him my all. there are times that I feel a little distant, but it's because of my own selfishness. this Christmas I WILL give him my all. I love the Lord!

Research the origins of xmas ... it has nothing to do with Christ and everything to do with pagan worship. Jesus was not born on xmas and He wants us to remember His death till He returns, not His birth.
Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, ... For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: ...
(Jer. 10:2-5)
Also, we should be doing for others every day, not just during this time of the year. We not only give our hearts, but EVERYTHING to Him and lay down our lives for others. Christ is our example.
Love in Christ,
Joanne
(I had to edit this and say that I see the Pagan Buddhist has it right ... like I said, this is a pagan holiday)
