Aren't all MLB players paid compensation for "their" services?

Consequently, I would have to say ... Yes, the Phillies bought "their" rotation ... and you don't know the proper use of the word "there."

Hence why Yankees fans know nothing...Phillies didn't buy their rotation at all..

sure they gave lee and halladay a lot of money but what the stupid people don't notice is that both of those pitcher accepted a lot less money then they could have gotten in new york, boston and other places willing to pay.

    1. halladay accepted a few years less then he could've gotten elsewhere (and less money)

    2. lee did the same

why? because they wanted to play for the Phillies..as simple as that..yankee fans are just pusssssies all they do is cry and make excuses when they don't get exactly who they want...

they overpayed for so many freaking players (texiera, jeter, burnett) to name a few and bought so many others.yankees blow they wont even make the playoffs next year

The phillies offered their entire pitching team. Cliff Lee did not take a pay shrink. The Yankees provided him the comparable volume of money for 5 years, so he replaced into offered. Halladay agreed to get traded to the Phillies SO he ought to sign an extension, subsequently he replaced into offered. Blanton and Oswalt have been traded for, definite, yet they have been given bargains and have been in fact offered. seem at it the form you like, yet human beings say they offered their rotation for a reason.

Everybody buys their players, thats just how s*** works. The Yankees ballpark is not completely empty and if it at all seems that way its because they have the most expensive tickets in the MLB. Someone's gotta pay for that payroll. haha.

I myself am a Yankees fan, i understand that lee likes philly and it was a clear choice for him but they have terrible fans. for example running on the field and the man who threw up on a local cops daughter on purpose etc.

we basically gave up our future for this rotation so stop complaining but yeah im a phillies fan and I will admit we pulled some strings to get this rotation. However both Halladay and Lee both took giant paycuts just to be on this team.

we just are saying how if yankees had that rotation the internet would be going nuts about yankees buying players again but its okay if anybody else does it. I dont have a problem with teams buying players thats the way it works in all sports you offer a contract to a good player you want and the team that offers him the most gets him

It's very easy to throw a blanket over a certain group of fans without really understanding how the business side of baseball works. I won't go into too much detail as I'm sure you would not understand. The reality is that ever since free agency came into existence, (via the Curt Flood lawsuit of 1970), which I have studied in great length, we find that technically any team that won the world series, "bought a championship". There is no way of getting around it.

As to your written expression on the subject, I find that ignorance is plainly in your hands, both from an intellectual perspective as well as common sense. Finally I'm guessing that you are and probably have been very jealous of the Yankees success. Instead of venting you anger on the Yankees organization you should focus on whatever team you root for and ask why they are not doing everything possible to put a winning product on the field.

I do realize that trying to convey this information to you is probably asking far too much. Your biggest problem seems to be your horribly constructed "run-on" sentence. Does name calling make you feel better?

They didn't. They traded for their rotation. Also, don't hate cause the Rangers won't be half as good as they were this season without Lee.

Ps. You're really pushing the whole "ya'll look at me I'm from texas" Also, check your facts before you start to rant like an idiot. Moron.

Every team trades, purchases, signs, and scouts players. And I'm not a Yankees fan, but they have a pretty good farm system...

Well they did....I'm not even a Yankee fan and I see that. I mean at least the Yankees have Hughes, Pettite and Nova. They all came up with them. You have Halladay (trade), Lee (FA 5/120), Oswalt (trade), Hamels (farm), Blanton (trade). The Giants and the Cardinals have great homegrown rotations and the Athletics' is pretty good too

They love to make these accusations because they've always been guilty of buying the best talent in free agency, despite being in complete denial of the obvious. The Phillies freed up payroll space to afford Cliff Lee, the Yankees sign commodities and retain talent at the same time. Their "fans" are bandwagon jockstrap jumpers so I'd probably take anything they say with a grain of salt.
