Sounds more like a boy name - because it's kinda harsh, if that makes sense.

It doesn't make me think of a girl, and I'm trying to picture a girl with this name.

I like Halven better, but overall I'm just not very fond of this name.

But your definitely get points for being creative!

I think as just Halvan it seems more like a boy's name, but you could shorten it to Hally and use it as a girl's name? I prefer it with an A.

It looks like a boy name. It reminds me of a cross between Hal and Alvin.

If I heard the name "hal vin," I would first assume it ended in -en, so I'd go with Halven.

Just curious, what are the name's origins?

I easily love all of those names on boys greater! different than for Brooke. i think of boy names on ladies is rather cheesy and unattractive, and it makes issues relatively complicated once you're speaking approximately somebody and can't tell in the event that they seem to be a toddler. I recommend between the main substantial purposes for a popularity is to be able to inform someones gender... Plus ladies are taking all the candy boy names and now it relatively is such as you may no longer call your son something that's no longer "Mr. great Butch McTestosterone" sounding. As for the surnames like McKenzie and Addison, those could in basic terms stay surnames... i do unlike them on the two gender. Edit: i think of it may well be embarrassing to a pair to fulfill somebody of the different intercourse with their call, i comprehend some ladies who do no longer care, and then there is my acquaintances Logan and Morgan who're the two ladies and get relatively annoyed by skill of it and Logan gets "butch" jokes lots from people because of the fact she seems very tomboyish and you recognize everybody is in basic terms @sses each each now and then, so each each now and then bullying would be a situation too it relatively is yet another reason i do no longer like it. and that i think undesirable for boys with names that are turning out to be used on ladies because of the fact now they're getting picked on by skill of infants that don't comprehend greater helpful too.
