I'm not sure about Washington state, but in NC, the pay rate starts around $8/hour. Private home-care can be more. If you are certified to dispense meds, it's around $10/hour in a nursing home or hospital. If you are certified for all levels of CNA home-care and can find a good home care gig, i've seen jobs at $200/day (12 hour shift), but they are few and far between. Here, it is really hard work for slightly above minimum wage. Try adding a few certifications like med-tec, phlebotomy, LPN, and your pay goes up considerably.....

My mom is a nurse In Washington state and she makes about $500 dollars for each 12 hour shift.
