What does a pre-op for ear tubes involve?
My daughter's getting tubes in her ears soon, and we have a pre-op appointment first. What happens during it, and how long do they typically last?
Blood work and x-rays sound like they'll take a while. :( Blurg.

Mine took like 5 minutes. He just looked in his ears, nose & throat, explained the surgery to me, and that was it.

Usually a pre op for minor surgery involves a quick check up to ensure the hild is fit and well for surgery, and someone will explain the surgery to you, explaing the risks and so forth and then have you sign the consent form. It doesnt take long.

It should be quick since tubes is a very quick surgery. They may to bloodwork and a chest x-ray, but not necessarily. Each doctor and each hospital has different requirements, so you should check with them.
