I haven't had a real one in the house in many years. It took me a long time to give up having a real one for an artificial one though, We always had a live tree when I was a young girl and it was tradition. But now I would never have a real one again. First of all they would get dry and shed before Christmas. Then just before Christmas in 1996, my sister's house burned down because of her real tree. She and her husband was sitting in the den but had a view of their big tree in the living room. They saw the light from the fire and it was engulfed so quickly that they had to get out quickly and couldn't save anything. Apparently a wire shorted out on the tree. They lost everything except a few things in the attached garage. Thankfully, they had insurance that replaced it all, and most of all they had their lives. A live tree is not worth the risk. This year I have a 4 ft. artificial tree on a table.

I haven't had a real tree in years. I have the fear of fire.I now have an artificial one. I just but the pine scent to make it smell real. I do miss the real ones. but do not want to take the chance of fire.

God bless and Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Lets remember the reason for the season.

If by "real", you mean a CUT Tree or LIVE Potted Tree, as opposed to a fake tree that comes from a factory...then I'd have to say, "NO, I don't have a real or a fake tree!"

I get to look at trees from my window & I'm happy they are outside & growing in freedom with the birds living it up inside the branches & happily pooping on my patio.

Not one house has lights on it this year. The storm & the high prices took the joy out of decorating, I suppose. Either that - or all my neighbors are heathens just like we are!

I don't, I have not put up a Christmas tree for years that I do not remember when the last time I did.

I have a small live tree that we will plant in the yard after Christmas, where we have planted several other Christmas trees. It is fun to watch them grow.

I suppose it all depends on the meaning of "real" - The tree I decorated is artificial, but to me it is a "real Christmas tree." When my family comes over to celebrate Christmas, I am sure they will know it is real in all the ways that count.

The bible clearly says, and I am not making this up, "Be not like the heathen who goes into the woods and cuts a tree and bring it into the house and garnishes it with gold and silver". So I buy an artificial tree and bring it into the house and garnishes it with gold and silver........Like the heathens.

I haven't had a real one up since my son moved out. We used to go to a tree farm and cut one. I have gone "retro" and have a foil one and a color wheel.

We have real pine trees but they're in our yard. I haven't had an actual Christmas tree in years. We had an artificial one once, but gradually gave up and quit putting it up; seems silly when there are no children around.

Did for many years. Our German Shepherd pulled it out of the woods for us.

But the kdis are gone, so I can quit fighting with dropped needles and sitting on dry sticky needles in my furniture for the next year.
