  • My credit card was scanned and used for fraudulent charges. Should I?

Call the places where the card was used or should I just hope the bank is doing the investigation? I am not sure where the card was scanned or photoed or whatever they do, but a large amount was charged at walmartonline.com, sephora.com, and zazzle. I went to the bank the day after I saw the charges and destroyed my card. Hopefully, bank insurance will cover the charges, but it ticks me that there is a thief out there so I am wondering if I can call the numbers and ask them where the merchandise was sent? It isn't fair to our banks that they have to cover costs either. What else can I do? Should I have reported it to our local police? I haven't charged anything online. It is just unsettling wondering who stole from me. If you have any advise that can help me to be more careful, I would appreciate it. I usually keep my eyes on my card when using it. I guess it can happen fast. Bummer people are too lazy to get a real job.

  • Can you save from a cd to a memory stick in windows 8? If not where can I find a new windows 7 PC?

I have an embroidery machine that takes memory sticks, but the designs come on CD's. on my old computer, I could put the CD in the drive and the screen came up asking what do you want to do with this CD and I clicked on to save it to the other drive, however all new computers are Windows 8 and most don't have CD drive of even the ones that I did manage to buy did not read the CD so I could copy it to a memory stick for my sewing machine. Where can I find a new windows 7 PC?

Everything else is working fine, but when I go to click on my messages, they won't open. Is there a simple way to fix this? Thanks in advance for your help.

  • How do you solve the problem such as $51.00 is 40% of what number?

Deducting percentage is easy, but I am blanking out on how to add percentage. I don't need you to solve the problem, but explain how do you do the reverse? I am blanking out. It has been 54 years since I graduated from high school. Thanks in advance.

  • What is the name of the pharmacy where senior citizens can order their medicines?

My mom use to get her medicines from them, but she has passed on. It is in the United States. One of my prescriptions has more than tripled in cost, to $154.00, so I need to find a less expensive place to buy hem.

Thanks in advance for your response.

  • Why do Christmas tree farmers cut and burn their trees?

This happens so often. Although the trees were beautiful for Christmas trees, the waited until March to cut them and are burning them. This happens just about every time their crops are big enough to sell. If they can't sell them, couldn't the be ground up for mulch?

  • Is it common for senior citizens to forget where they have parked their car in large parking lots?

This is inspired from the question about knowing our direction. I am good at that when the sun is out or by seeing the mountains here in Oregon. However, if I park in a large parking lot at the mall, I guess I wasn't concentrating when I parked the car, and when I went out of the mall, I forgot just where I had parked it. I had my grandson with me and he said, "Grandma you parked by that tree with the red (it was Autumn) leaves. Now, I take note of what row and how many cars out I am from the store entrance and type it in the notes of my cell phone. As far as directions East and West, I am okay as long as there is sun and shadows and our mountains, but parking lots, not so good.

  • Why do people lie when they know the truth will come out?

I just saw on the news that a young man lied about his military service on American Idol. He especially should have know, being seen on TV, that there were going to be lots of people who know the truth. He got caught in his lie. Isn't it easier to just tell the truth? The young man had served, but added untrue events.

I put this in Seniors, A. Because we have lived many years and we have seen the results of lying.

    B. I didn't know where else to put it. :-)

  • What does it mean when someone says to you they had déjà vu and they felt strange.?

Shortly before my husband died in an accident caused by a person using dope, he told me he had déjà vu, and that he felt strange. I didn't think to question him as I didn't understand. Was it coincidence that he experienced it a few days before he died?

I am asking in seniors because at our age we have experienced so much in our lives. If you have had, can you please explain what you experienced.

  • Should there be a zero tolerance of bullying school and if so, what age and?

How should it be introduced?. I read today of a young man who committed suicide because he was constantly bullied. There were two people on TV tonight that had very rough times in school. Could it be part of the reading program starting in first grade? I know it should start in the home with parents, but it doesn't always happen. We had a young man in our area in fifth grade try to commit suicide.

  • Are the smooth top ranges even heating and do they scratch easily?

I asked this in remodeling and got no answers, and being a regular on seniors forum, we usually get responses. Anyway, we need a new stove and I am just wondering if people who have them, like them. I don't see many of the older type with burners on them and we don't have gas hooked to the house for a gas range.

  • How do you feel when you are driving and when you get to a stop light a man is standing there with a sign aski?

Today, we were driving not the city and as we exited the freeway and got to the stop light, there stood a fellow. The odd thing is, he had long white hair and a long white beard. He looked like Santa. Always feel kind of sad for them, however one day my sis in law and I were eating lunch, and we watched as a well dressed man took two men to separate corners and showed them how to hold their signs to go with the traffic. Do you think some of these fellows are pimped out to beg? Do you give them money?

  • Have you ever bought tickets to a show or concert online and found out they were fraud?

I just bought 7 tickets to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra in Portland, Oregon. They are an awesome group and I was very excited to see them, this being my first big Concert to go to. I bought tickets through MetroEntertainment, and the tickets say Rose Garden instead of Rose Quarter. I went in today and showed the tickets to the ticket master, and they say the tickets can't be scanned until the day of the show. I am telling you this so you can be aware that there are scammers out there that look very legitimate. This unscrupulous Metro-Entertainment venue, now has my credit card number. So I am going to have to get a new one.

  • Is it unsophisticated to giggle when one has reached the ripe old age of 71?

My kids and grandkids can get me to giggling until I have tears in my eyes. They know how easy I laugh...and they don't care where we are. ( I do get up and leave and get a drink of water to stop the giggling if we are in public though);-)

  • Does auto correct sometimes get you in trouble?

I was commenting on Facebook that I was excited about an upcoming concert. (Excited because I haven't been to one in years). Anyway I typed, "I am excited!" Later, I went back and saw comments. My granddaughter thought I was using slang for the word damn because auto correct misunderstood me, I guess maybe I didn't space between the I and am. What it did come out as was, "Jam excited!"

Ahhhh! I don't think she has ever heard me cuss. ;-)

  • Seniors, have you ever gone to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra?

I ordered tickets online after seeing an ad on TV that they were going to be in Portland, Oregon. I have never been to an orchestra before, so is it something we dress up for? I know I sound like a country hick, and I am. I thought it was going to be easy listening music, then my granddaughter told me I could watch them online on youtube. Hmmm, not easy listening. But loud! Have you seen them and what do you think? Thanks in advance
