Trying to conceive and negative OPK?

I'm new to trying to conceive. I've been off the pill for more than 1 year, tracking my CM for years, started BBT this month. I did OPK test last month and negative. This month, during and after healthy CM I took OPK test and they are negative. Why?

Could I be having periods, CM and no ovulation?

Thanks

How often did you test with the opk? if it was only once a day it is possible that you missed the surge in hormone. It's also possible if you drank a lot of water beforehand that you diluted the hormone in your urine and the surge wasn't detected. If you have regular periods and other signs of ovulation (ie- fertile cm) then it's really unlikely that you're not ovulating. I'm having similar problems with OPKs, I used them for the first time last month but never got a positive, even though I had fertile cm, and my periods are very regular. Try again next month, but test twice a day. restrict water intake for 2 hours befor testing and test once around 10-12 am and again around 6-8 pm. This way you shouldn't miss your surge. This is what I plan to do next month if this month proves unlucky. Good luck to you!
