    Depends on the couple. Some girls want just him and her. Some girls want all their friends to witness. New Year's Eve is a good time. At midnight he could ask her or have friends to line up. Tell her they are going to flip posters that say Happy New Year 2011, but when they flip it says Will You Marry Me Name?

    I personally enjoyed picking out my own engagement ring, unless you are planning 1 karat.
