What has been the best thing about riding in 2010?
We've all had high points, I'm sure.Perhaps you won a race, or achieved a personal best. Perhaps you shed a little weight off those hips.Perhaps you just saved a lot of money by not driving to work.
So for you, what has been the best thing about riding our bike that you can think of, that has happened over the past 12 months?

awesome question.
This year I raced for my first time. Despite my poor performance, it was an awesome event and for me, it meant a lot. I learned a lot and I hope to compete more in 2011. It was an endurance race that I had to train for which meant more miles and more miles and more miles!
Along the way, I met some new people and made new friends. I became faster and my endurance increased A LOT!. 2010 will likely mark a turning points in my cycling as I am not riding with end-goals.
In May, I am riding my first century so my focus is shifting to the road bike for the early part of the year - although I will never dedicate all my time to the road.

The highlight for me this year is doing the Mt. Evan bike race, AKA Bob Cook Memorial race
It's not by far the longest or the hardest climb, but definitely the highest altitude of 14,000ft. The race takes above the tree lines and it just looks so surreal (scenery and the light headed-ness) near the top, and definitely the long descent afterwards back down.
Hightlights for next year: I'll be doing some more races, Bicycle Tour of Colorado, and hopefully the Triple Bypass ride.

Two things:
1. Training with my GF on her first road bike, working up to her first Metric century. YAY HER!
2. Any ride on my newly acquired Seven bike -- a dream!
