"Harry Potter actress in hiding after death threats
Afshan Azad, the 22 year old actress who played Padma Patil in the Harry Potter series, has gone into hiding after receiving death threats from her family.
According to BBC News, her older brother recently admitted physically attacking her - though CBS (via UK tabloid The Daily Mail) notes that at the time, he seemed to be more concerned with how the arrest would make his family look in public. The court cleared him and his father of the charges of making death threats. Apparently, Ms. Azad is dating a Hindu fellow, and this has angered her conservative Muslim family, and most notably her brother.

Yes.
The UK is a predominantly secular society where people can be as they want to be, and so stories like this show that there are still intolerant recalcitrants who think they can bully others into religious conformance.
Such bullying behaviour is abhorrent, and all decent people (Muslims or otherwise) should condemn it. No aspect of religion should be other than voluntary.

What does alleged domestic violence have anything to do with the 1.4 billion Muslims on Earth who come from various cultures, ethnicities, customs, etc?
If it is true, that story about the actress, then it's sad but it's definitely not condoned by Muslims.

I'm Muslim, and I condemn this. Happy? What does one stupid, conservative, abusive family have to do with me or my religion? Islam does not allow such.
