Can I interchange my wheels from a 1982 XJ650 with a 07 Yamaha V-star 650?

I have the mag style wheels that are currently on my bike as I am wanting to convert into a vintage style bobber and want to switch over to spoke. If the V-star will not work can you give me another option. Oh and so you know my bike is shaft driven.

No they are totally different. Different mounting, Axel and brake setup. They make spoke wheels for you bike just get some at a motorcycle grave yard. You will need tubes when you switch to spokes.

I have a V-star 1100. As you already know you must put on a shaft drive wheel. I am not sure about rim diameter. You will need to contact a Yamaha dealer ask for service. I believe they can answer your question with correct knowledge. Good luck and have fun.
