You should check out Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. It has 64 episodes and it is AMAZING. It's about two brothers who are searching for a way to get their original bodies back after a failed attempt to bring back their mother from the dead via alchemy (it will make sense if you watch it).

The story isn't confusing, but it does go pretty deep with some twists. It's comedic, action/adventure, some romance, and will make you teary eyed at some parts. All in all, it's a great anime. I just finished it a couple days ago.

Death Note - havent watched it yet but heard awsome feedback from it,

Fullmetal Alchemist - (I am currently watching and have to say, it is fricken awwsssommee. It's about a branch of science called 'alchemy' which the alchemists can break down substances completely and rebuild them to whatever they want),

Bakuman - (which is pretty new and am really enjoying it. Its about two teenagers wanting to become mangaka/manga artists and theres also a bit of romance in thier if you like:D)

I also heard good stuff about Fairy Tale which I will start soon ;)

death note- high school boy finds a notebook that lets him kill anybody by writing their name in the notebook....he then tries to become the new god of the world.

hellsing- a centuries-old vampire who works for a secret British organization tries to rid England of all vampire attacks..(one of my faves)

elfen lied- a girl who was picked on by humans as a little girl is now a cold-blooded killer who escapes from a government facility.

welcome to the nhk- 22 year old college dropout who is a shut-in, and a girl who tries to cure him of his shyness...even though she has some problems of her own...

high school of the dead- awesome zombie story; centers around a bunch of high school kids
