How do you control yourself when you have major motion sickness?

What is best to do when your in a car or a roller coaster and you feel extremely dizzy? I know if you get out of the car and ride and you breathe fresh air it supposedly helps, but what else?

Well, the best thing you can do is try to prevent it. If you are going on a long car ride or something and you know there's a possibility of getting motion sickness try taking medication beforehand. Dramamine is usually really great, they have a drowsy version which you can take if you are flying or you are going to be the passenger and it can help you rest while traveling, or you can take the non drowsy in case you are the one driving, or there's a chance you will have to share the wheel with somebody else, or if you just don't want to be tired!

Also ginger is supposedly really good at helping ease the symptoms of motion sickness; ginger ale is great to drink, or they make ginger supplements you can take as well. Avoid reading or looking down, try to look ahead if you can. Also sitting in the front seat of a car can help....the back seat is the worst place you can sit if you get frequent motion sickness.

Focus on one spot, better from far away, like stare at a cloud or something, concentrate on that spot, and stay still dont move your head or anything. Open the windows if your in the car, or if your driving just take gravol. wont help with dizziness but it will prevent you from vomiting.

Try using something called a Sea-Band. It might help. It uses acupressure to relieve motion sickness, nausea, and morning sickness. I got two of them for $10 at a local grocery store. There's also a website: http://www.sea-band.com/ that sells them for the same price.

you can try focusing on one stationary spot so your mind will realize you are not spinning like crazy..
