Is any license or certification required to own a BB/pellet gun in B.C.?

I was looking to purchase an air pistol but I've read information all over the place that states flat out contradictory information. On the Canadian government website, it says replice firearms under 500fps are prohibited items and yet I have a local store near me that sells them. They are also sold in local Walmart and Canadian Tires as long as you are 18.

I was looking to get a Crosman 357W pellet revolver. It is CO2 powered (fires .177 pellets NOT BBs) and has a FPS rating of 435 FPS. Is it legal to own one. I am only purchasing for recreation. I will not be brandishing it outdoors, only shooting around in my garage.

No license, no certification. I have one, friend has one. Never needed any certification or license.
