  • Is this a good deal for a set of cymbals?

I'm buying some cymbals off of Craigslist for $400. The person is selling 14" Stage Hats, a 16" Stage Crash and a 20" Stage Ride. They are all Sabian's HHX line. Is this is a reasonable price?

  • Questions about becoming an air traffic controller?

I am currently a senior in high school and am interested in becoming an air traffic controller. I had some questions about the process of doing so. At the moment, my tentative plan to eventually become a controller is finish high school with high marks (~88% - 95% for my main courses) and then go to BCIT and get a diploma in Airport Operations. While doing this, I will likely take get a pilot's license (not for commercial planes, but smaller ones) and training to strengthen my credentials and understanding of aviation. After receiving my diploma, I will apply to Nav Canada's Air Traffic Controller program.

    My questions were:

-Is the above plan a good one?

-Does being familiar with a flying and getting a diploma increase my chances of being accepted into Nav Canada's program (their website is a little vague about this but the BCIT course is not accredited to actually qualify me as any kind of trainer)?

  • Mass Effect 3 endings?

I want to play Mass Effect 3 the way the developers envisioned it not based on community response. Essentially, is it still possible to play the "director's cut" version of ME3 not the "butthurt fan edition?"

  • Is it worth getting a sound card?

I recently bought a pair of Audio Technica ATH-M35s and heard that a dedicated sound card can drastically improve audio fidelity. I've never used one before and am not willing to spend much on one so I was looking at getting an ASUS Xonar DG. Would this setup be noticeably better than my on-board audio?

  • Does the 2004 Honda Civic Si-G Coupe have the same stock springs as the Civic DX Coupe of the same year?

I recently purchased a lowered Honda Civic and wanted to return it to its original height and found some springs from an 04 DX coupe but wasn't sure if they were identical to the Si's?

  • What are some reliable cars that don't use DbW or do not suffer from typical DbW lag problems?

I am a student looking for a used car (standard transmission only), preferably for a cheap, more recent year model something like a 2006 + Civic, which was my first choice for economy, safety, etc. Does anyone know of any similar low-cost vehicles that have a throttle cable and not electronic throttle control? Also, how bad is the Civic's DbW system? Is it improved in 2007, 2008, or more recent models?

  • Can someone name this car part?

I have an old Civic and it's missing this part. I've Googled a bunch of different terms but couldn't find it. It's the board inside of the trunk (often covered in fabric) of cars used to (sometimes) cover the spare tire and tire equipment and to provide a flat surface for groceries, what is it called???????????

  • Best screen protector for iPod Touch 4G?

I was looking to get a screen protector for my new iPod, but a lot of the ones I've seen aren't very form fitting and leave a lot of space around the home button and the camera. I wanted one that fit perfectly around the button and camera. What type of protector would you recommend?

  • Do computer (hardware) fan controllers work with all types of fans?

I'm thinking of purchasing a fan controller for my PC, but I wasn't sure if it would work with my computer. I have a custom built PC and the primary fans I was looking to control were the case fans and the CPU cooler fan. I half a HAF-932 case (default fans) and a Scythe Mugen Rev.B Heatsink w/one fan. Would a controller work with the fans I have or do only specific types work with controllers?

Controllers I was looking at purchasing are listed here:

  • How to use Playstation File System Libraries to enable NTFS support?

I've recently looking around for ways to get my PS3 to support NTFS and this homebrew method apparently works - http://www.crunchgear.com/2011/02/23/ps3-gets-ntfs... & http://ps3.dashhacks.com/2011/02/23/playstation-fi...

I have the file downloaded but I don't understand what to do with it. Do I run an application and format my drive or copy the data onto a flash drive or what?

How do I use this so that I can use files larger than the 4GB limit of FAT32?

  • PS3 hacked, is my personal information still at jeopardy?

With the recent hacking of PSN, the information of every user is compromised.

I've already cancelled and ordered a new credit card, but now I'm worried about my windows live account. I changed the password, but could they still access. I would guess they only have access to the old password, since Windows Live and PSN aren't linked and updated in real-time.

Do you think they could have access to my newly changed password/account?

Should I make a new account?

  • What camera should I buy for my needs?

I was looking to upgrade to a new digital camera, and I'm tired of using my sister's compact one.

I wanted something <$250 and similar to the Fujifilm S1800. The reason I don't like the S1800 is because, in manual mode, I can't set the exposure to automatic (at least I don't think so) whereas my current camera, I can individually change all the settings between manual and automatic into a sort of "custom" mode.

    Any advice?

  • Upgrading my drum set?

I was thinking of getting a new drum set since my old, $200 Sonic beginner set just isn't doing it for me any more (that's what she said) and I was looking at getting this Gretsch Catalina Maple kit from Long & McQuade (http://tinyurl.com/4ufnkrl) while it's on sale.

    Is that a good kit?

In case you want to recommend differently, my price range is MAX $800, I have 4 years total experience, and all for have been concert band and 1 year has been concert as well as jazz. I am not amazing but I don't usually have any trouble with any songs I play at school and can catch on pretty quick.

  • Is any license or certification required to own a BB/pellet gun in B.C.?

I was looking to purchase an air pistol but I've read information all over the place that states flat out contradictory information. On the Canadian government website, it says replice firearms under 500fps are prohibited items and yet I have a local store near me that sells them. They are also sold in local Walmart and Canadian Tires as long as you are 18.

I was looking to get a Crosman 357W pellet revolver. It is CO2 powered (fires .177 pellets NOT BBs) and has a FPS rating of 435 FPS. Is it legal to own one. I am only purchasing for recreation. I will not be brandishing it outdoors, only shooting around in my garage.

  • Why does the PS3 XMB music stops when I enter a certain part of the XMB?

I recently bought a PS3 and an issue I find extremely irritating is the fact that if I'm at the XMB and I have music playing in the background (from my HDD) when I go to change a setting, such as my Theme it stops. It also stops if I view a friends profile or go into the Playstation Store. Can I change this in the settings?

Isn't the point of XMB music eliminated if I can't listen to it while going through my settings or friends' profiles (the only useful place it works is while web-browsing)?

*Also, for any wanting to leave a comment that I should have bought an Xbox, I have one...it is currently a $1000+ paperweight sitting in my basement*

  • Can I seal my subwoofer (computer speakers)?

I have Creative Inspire M2600 2.1 Speakers and my subwoofer sounds odd with certain songs, and when the hole (don't know the technical term or anything but the one air is expelled through) is covered, it sounds fine. Can I seal it? Will it damage it or anything? If I can't, any tips on how to lessen the distortion and improve the sound since I'm in a small room with a laminate floor there is also echo.

  • Is Specialty Shooting Sports Outdoors a legitimate dealer?

I was recently looking to purchase an air pistol and I live in the lower mainland, but none of my local retailers meet my needs. I have been looking around online and found the above site as well as D & L Airgun and wanted to know if this one was legitimate because it has really great prices. I'm also not an online shopper so I hesitant.

Can I trust them? Should I go ahead and order what I need?

  • Do Langley Guns & Tackle also sell air guns?

I was looking to get an air pistol (Walther CP99 Compact or Umarex SA177) and needed a place to buy. Does this store sell them?
