My sweaters are pilling?

Hi. I have a bunch of thin cashmere sweaters from Macy's. They all started pilling immediately. Does anyone know what causes pilling? (My thin cashmere sweater from J. Crew, which I've worn 100 times has not one pill on it.) And what can I do about it? How can I get rid of pills short of picking each one off? I tried a razor blade, a disposable razor, but that just ripped the sweater. Thanks.

You can buy clothes shaver that get rid of that pilling. Clothes shavers are much safer for your clothes. Yes you can slice clothes if you use a regular razor for pilling but clothes shavers don't hurt your clothes, they just remove the pills. I bought mine at Walmart but Target and Kmart carry them too. They only cost about $5 or $6. Good luck.

take it to the dry cleaners...they will use a special brush (like a dog brush) to brush out the knots...than use the shaver to get rid of the fuzz..it's inevitable that cashmere sweaters will pill.
