Can I get a refund/exchange on this jacket?
Basically, I bought a jacket in the sale from Jane Norman and the first time I wore it a button fell off. I thought, no big deal, so I sewed it back on. Then the next time I wore the jacket two more buttons fell off... so I kinda just managed without the buttons, then I wore the jacket again yesterday and another two buttons fell off.... I've only had the jacket for less than two weeks!
What can I do?

If you are in the UK you still have the same rights even with Sale goods - it is not of merchantable quality - take it back and get your money back
OR
If you like the jacket, bite the bullet and keep it but sew the buttons on properly - most of this clothing nowadays is mass produced and done by machines, so the quality suffers

Take it back and be nice about it and they might give you a refund. However if it is only the buttons then they are within their rights to put the problem right and give you the jacket back with the buttons properly sown on.
Even if they are sale goods you have the same rights as you would at the normal price.

Yes. I would take it back and ask for a refund or exchange. The jacket you had was poor quality. The Sales of goods act will cover you in this instance.

If you want money back they might try and fob you off cause its just buttons so unpick some seams on the jacket really carefully then take it back....Always works when i need a suit for a funeral for the day !!!

you can get a redund or exchange unless they stamp a "final sales with no refund or exchange" on your sales receipt.
