Is it safe to stop birth control?

I have been on BC for about 2-3 years to slow down my heavy periods. It has worked. However, I am wanting to get off of the pill to see whether or nto I need it anymore to regulate this. It would save me money to get off of it. Should it be safe for me to stay off of it now?

Yes, you can just stop it. But there's no way of knowing if your heavy periods will go away or come back. Probably come back--the pill treats the symptom but not the cause.

Ask your doctor to be sure, but I think it should be okay as long as you're not having sex at all.
