What do you think about a secular business using religious symbols in it's advertising?
I received a business card from a guy advertising his business. The card has an emblem of a fish with the name Jesus inside the fish.
An acquaintance of mine started his own small construction business and named it "The King's ______ Company". (name is edited to maintain his anonymity, and King's refers to Jesus the King of Kings).
Another home repair company named itself "Jesus Christ Is Lord _______ Company".
So what does this type of advertising say to you?
Are they really witnessing for the Lord, or are they trying to capitalize on His name to get more business, or trying to portray themselves as more upright and trustworthy than their competitors, or something else?.
Are you more inclined to call them when you need the services they provide, becuase of their advertised connection to God, or less inclined?

I struggle with this myself. Just because one puts a fish at the bottom of their ad doesn't mean they'll be straightforward and honest in their business practices.
I would still call Angie's List or the BBB before using a particular business.
And, no, I would not be more inclined to call them. Business trust is earned.

Wow this one is a big issue for me. I recently had to start asking clinics out here in the states if they had a religious affiliation before I set into them because the last one I was in made me so uncomfortable. Yes.. Broadcasting Christians make me uncomfortable.
I think I could have saved a lot of time if I had known the doctors office I was visiting was more interested in Jesus than getting to know their patients. "Jesus Christ Is Lord _____ Company" is 1/4th interested in doing whatever _____ is and 3/4ths interested in saving your soul.
This goes both ways. While it supplies an uncertain advantage it also implies a certain level of general disgust depending on how these symbols are being used. Personally I'll stick to my square and compass and call it all good.

I wouldn't support a business that uses the Lord as a 'business partner'..
There is a time and a place for everything.....and putting Jesus on a business card, there is no place for that crap

you can't really know the motivations till you speak to the propietors of said businesses.
they might be religious lunatics that want to have thier business "blessed" by thier respective imaginary sky fairies by including them in the name.
maybe they are marketing to a religious demographic (of which they themselves may or may not be a part of).
maybe they are just proud of thier delusional state and advertise thier business that way.
can be many reasons- but you cant generalize.
even if it is someone looking to capitalize on a fairy tale concept how is that any different from what the church/temple/mosques do to get money from thier contributors?
oh wait- they get tax breaks for no legitimate reason.

I hate those Jesus-fish businesses; I avoid them whenever possible. I think they're self-righteous and ethnocentric, and there's enough of that in the world without me spending my hard-earned money on one of them. In my experience, the people who do the most patting themselves on the back are doing it because nobody else wants to be anywhere near them.

i do no longer think of it extremely is utilising God's call for earnings. i think of human beings began utilising it so while somebody had to discover a company they could understand they have been coping with a fellow Christian owned organization. i think of it extremely is overused now days (the place I stay besides) I see it in distinctive classified ads in our telephone books. i in my view could by no potential use a company only because of fact they used a fish or pass image. i think of i could be upset if I went to a mechanic if he used a Christian image and he nevertheless ripped me off.

Whether or not they advertise themselves as a Christian company has nothing to do with whether or not I will use their service..it's all about price and ability.

I have more horror stories concerning "christian" business owners, than secular. With that said, people hoping to drum up business by appearing "christian" to me is shooting themselves in the foot. I will never send my business to any one openly advertising religious affiliation.

Advertising is well known as an unreliable source of information. While plainly speaking is a virtue, it is cast aside for the "virtue" of accumulating wealth.

If the magic space man didn't like it.. he would smite them with plagues, swarms of frogs or maybe just drown the world again. So obviously it's all good.
