Ovulation/Fertile mucus lasting for a week, four days late for period and BFN!?

Before i go any further i just want to apologise for the detail.

Ovulated on the 19th of December, normal stretchy clear mucus that ive had for months (TTC) had unprotected sex on the right days before and after but then i noticed the mucus two days after i ovulated then it carried on and off for the week after.

Phoned the doctor and he said it could be that i ovulated late and not to worry unless it becomes irritating, discoloured or smelly.

Now im four days late for my period, i have done two HPT and both come back negative. Boobs pretty tender, but tha'ts normal for me around period time. But i did notice a change when im cold my nipples get stiff and hurt alot more than normal. One other sign is im moderately more exhausted then i should be. IE Falling asleep couple hours before i used to. My mood has been horrendous these past two days.

I just wanted to know if it sounded hopeful or any advice.......

I will be going to the doctors if AF doesnt come in the next couple days, but just with my works i dread asking for time off.

Thanks ahead of time. Jess

Update:

I have had some mild cramping since my period due date but nothing to show for it. Back pain and stomach, also my appetite has halfed in size.

it's possible but not too likely that you'd get multiple flase negatives this late. I'm nearly 10 days late for my period and All tests are BFNs so I totally know how you feel. You never know though, it is possible. Maybe the doctor can do a blood test for you?
