Why was it recalled? Are the slats too wide? Do plastic pieces break and make the sliding part swing out, where the baby's body could slide, trapping the head and strangling the baby? Try freecycle in your local area, or craigs list - people may even be willing to let you borrow a crib for a couple of years between their kids if you have the means to get the word out using those social networking sites. Throw the crib out. It was recalled for a reason. Either call a charity organization and request a crib or co-sleep.

Time to start co-sleeping.
