Is there a reason why I am always hungry?
I've been battling my weight for a while. I am 5 feet tall even and I need to keep my weight under control. I weigh around 117 pounds.
Problem is...I'm never full. It's ridiculous. I can't keep doing this. I wonder if it's a metabolism issue, but I'm no expert in that department.
Any suggestions? Should I talk to my doctor? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, there could be a real reason for this. You could be insulin resistant. Here is what happens: you eat a sufficient amount of food and your pancreas produces an overabundance of insulin, which can't get into the cells. So, you have all this extra insulin floating around, and an hour or two after you eat, your blood sugar takes a big dip, so you feel hungry again. Eating smaller meals (about 6 per day) will help, but may not be practical depending on your lifestyle.
You could talk to your doctor and ask if he will check a fasting INSULIN level, not a blood sugar level, as this will be normal. There are medications that can help the insulin get into the cells, (metformin) and will decrease the big swings in blood sugar levels.
I actually had this and it was picked up by a great endocrinologist! My insulin level was on the high end of normal, which my doctor thought was fine, but she (the endocrinologist) said,"Yes, but that was fasting so when you eat, your insulin level goes up much higher". She had me check my blood sugar one hour and then two hours after eating and I was amazed to see my blood sugar after a meal go to about 190, then an hour after that (two hours after a meal) is was down in the 40's. The metformin helped to level that out.

Sounds like you just have a very high metabolism. What you can do is eat 4 meals a day and have healthy snacks in-between like granola bars yogurt fruit veggies. Enjoy that metabolism while it last for alot of people it's not forever

That depends on what you're eating and whether you eat at regular intervals. If you eat three meals a day, try switching that to five smaller meals a day. Also drink lots of water as many people mistake thirst for hunger.

what is your age n gender...
u can check your Body Mass Index (BMI)
hormone change can be affected also..
digestion of your body and work change .. as energy spend greater also can be affected..
may be you have change your life style .. as before not active in sport n now u are..
metabolism could be a issue as well...
portion of the food intake is it more .. before much or..you can try to get some others food to fill up your stamouch..

You have to suffer to lose weight. Your body will think your running out of food and starving yourself because its not getting as much, Your stomach got dependent on it. Kinda like alcohol.
