Actually, it turns out to be moderately difficult to get to the truth, and if you want to understand it completely, you'll find it's all but impossible, because there is too much knowledge, spread over too many fields, for one person to completely put together and totally comprehend. But to understand the basics, and see how it works, you need to study long and hard. You must understand science, which means a good grasp of math and logic, and you must investigate the physics, chemistry, history, ecology, and computer science behind AGW theory at some length and in some detail, to come close to the truth about global warming.

To understand the basics of what's going on now between deniers and the rest of the world, you need to know a little something about science, it's history and practice, and have a realistic understanding of humans, our society, and how we work together. This brief investigation will show you that for the deniers to be right, there must exist a vast conspiracy, extending back a couple centuries, at least, and that much of what we believe in science, especially the parts we've based our highly-successful technology on, are wrong. Not just a little wrong, but deeply and vastly flawed, so much so that we could not have built our technology up as we have.

Thus, it becomes a simple choice: do I believe what has been demonstrated to work, to be real, or do I disregard that, and believe what I want to believe. I leave the answer up to the reader as to what kind of person decides each way.

Well if you use your brain you will come to the inevitable conclusion that man's actions are the major cause of global warming and climate change which in turn induced multitude of natural disasters that we are witnessing today.

If you don't use your brain all you will get as an output is the excrement of belief based misinformation that has nothing whatsoever to do with reality and all you will be stuck with is the ridiculous argument that GW is a hoax designed to tax people etc.

Climate change is natural and has happened before and will do so in the future but man has greatly accelerated the process of global warming through his actions and in the space of a short one hundred years he has greatly altered the natural cycle of earth that would normally take many thousands of years to realize and thus unleashed the fury of nature which will greatly put out natural disasters in response in the most heinous and frequent fashion.

People living now are more in danger of being utterly mutilated and murdered by nature's doing than by any other sources simply because man kind has brought this upon himself.

Do you REALLY NOT KNOW that there have been six separate enquiries on two continents, and that all of them showed a complete absence of fraud by the scientists?

And we've been hearing plenty from them. Check out my own questions here, and you will see that from time to time I ask about some of the more interesting publications, but that's just a drop in the ocean.

And don't you know that Fox news reporters are now under orders to describe any information about climate as subject to disagreement, whether anyone actually disagrees or not? It really is very very difficult to find out the truth behind GW, if you're getting your information from Fox News, but that's not the fault of the climate scientists.

All scientists were cleared in the middle of last year. It was just yet another failed attempt to try to deny the facts.

"Five investigations into the "Climategate" scandal have now cleared a group of scientists accused of twisting data in an effort to prove the world is getting warmer".

    http://articles.sfgate.com/2010-07-19/news/2198886...

"Last week, five independent investigations cleared the scientists involved in the Climategate scandal from allegations that they had tampered with their research in order to prove global warming. The verdict is a major victory for environmentalists and a wake up call for climate change" skeptics.

Again the joker denialists can't handle the truth so they bury my post with nothing but the facts!

What kind of people can give reality a thumbs down??? A bunch of mice following their pied piper!

And where did you hear anything about the science in the media before 'climategate' as well? If you want to learn about whats going on in the science read science journals. Don't base your assumptions on how the media portrays it. You can start at google scholar.

Very. So far no one has been able to make up an accurate computer model so it must be very difficult.

I think that you have to bear in mind that the authorities recognise the potential to raise revenue under the cloak of 'greenness'. The car road tax tariff is skewed to raise extra money for the Exchequer.

My view is that weather is cyclical and we delude ourselves if we think we are affecting it.
