Is Tom Brady the best quarterback ever...?
To be honest, I'm a Pats fan, but what he's done this year is incredible. I mean, the talent of the '07 team was MUCH better than this year and he still went 14-2. Also, I don't think his success is due to physical talent...he completes the 6 yd passes to receivers running full speed like no one ever has. That, I believe, is the key to success in the NFL (that and recognizing and adapting to defenses). Thoughts?
Brett Favre??? **cough, cough**
To the Joe Montana folks, look at what Steve Young did with mostly the same receivers...not to say Montana wasn't great

I don't think anyone can ever be named "Best Quarterback Ever." There are so many greats, how can you say one is better than the other? Who's to say Tom Brady is better than Joe Montana or Joe Namath or any of those other guys?

Joe Montana, and Steve Young WAS good BTW, who when he left SF he still got the Chiefs to the Conference Championship game. Let's see what pretty boy does without Billy Belichick.

he's one of the greatest. But i think best is a bit of a stretch. watch some old tape and then come back, people have been completing "6 yd passes to receivers running full speed" for a long time. another problem is the age each QB played in. offenses have changed so much and rules have been changed to help passing so much it's hard to compare. saying that, defenses have become so much more complex and confusing, it might be harder to play QB now.

Johnny Unitas and Joe Montana were both better than Brady.
Unitas was the best ever...he invented the 2 minute offense AND he called all of his plays on the field...a true field general on the football field.

Joe Montana was the first comeback king. He was famous for a reason. Tom Brady is good, but not that good.

Given the fact that he is the ONLY quarterback to win 3 super bowls in the era of salary caps and free agency... yes I'd have to say so.
