What are the top three most inherently *likable* NFL teams to a non-fan or neutral football fan?

What do you think? Try to be as objective as possible. Don't let your own fandom or current playoff results get you away from being objective. I think they are...

New Orleans Saints: Perpetual underdogs who finally came into success. Brees is likable. Kind of became (as much as I hate phrase) 'America's Team; after Katrina. Their SB win was a 'feel-good' story.

Green Bay Packers: Small town team (can almost fit the entire town in the stadium), owned by the fans and not a billionaire, good history.

Detroit Lions: At the very least, they're so pathetic it's just impossible to hate them.

Saints: Mainly for the reasons you stated, although it gets annoying hearing about the feel good story all the time.

Rams: Mostly because nobody really hates them, Bradford is a pretty likable guy, and they are going to be much better in the next few years.

Packers: They are the only fan-owned team and go about their business without any trash talk or distracting side issues now that Favre is gone.

  • I kind of agree with you. I mean the Detriot Lions aren't actually as pathetic as they seem, but I like them for some reason even though I'm a Packers fan. Like I said I'm a Packers fan so I can't really judge them fairly, but I know so many people that respect them for being the only fan-owned team they're pretty liked. I think the Saint fit in their quite nicely, I mean they're city has just been through so much you feel like such a horrible person if you cheer against them.

I like the Eagles, but if their fans boo them they can't be on the list.

Everyone is so annoyed how the Cowboys claim to be America's team and how Cowboys fans are just kind of really arrogant I can't choose them. The Patriots have won so much they're everyone's enemy and might actually be one of the most despised teams in the NFL.

Colts- If you forget Peyton they're just that one team that deserted their fans in Baltimore and moved to Indianapolis.

Bears- I'm a Packers fan so I hate them a lot. Plus, they just get so many luckly breaks this season its just downright unfair. I'm kind of biased against them, but I don't think they're all that popular outside of Chicago.

I'm not sure if I could narrow it down to 3. I like so many teams and I think a number of them are likeable. I played football at LSU so I have friends on most teams in the NFL. I'll give it a shot though.

    1) Saints....somebody else stated...everybody loves a great story like that.

    2) Green Bay....Aaron Rodgers is just a nice guy

    3) Ok....I'll go with the Rams...either them or KC. I like Sam Bradford a lot and cannot understand how anyone could find him, the face of the franchise, to be unlikeable.

    I love my Lions.

My three are the Lions, Saints and Colts. It's hard to hate Peyton Manning.

I absolutely agree with The Saints. I don't live in New Orleans and have never been there, but I've been rooting for the Saints. I tend to disagree on Green Bay though. I might go with The Bears. I can see why you would pick The Lions.

    Saints, for reasons already specified.

Colts, for the love of arguably the greatest QB ever to play football by his career's end, Peyton Manning.

    Cowboys, for the history.

Bears- oldest team with a winning history and a passionate, large fanbase

    Cowboys- America's team

Cardinals- Second oldest team, absolutely no reason to dislike them

You cleary don't watch football. Lions have gotten alot better, I hardly see how 6-10 is pathetic.

Saints for reasons stated, Patriots cause America likes a winner, Cowboys because of our history!

Indianapolis Colts -- Peyton is just so "aw shucks"!

New Orleans Saints -- Brought the city together and darnit, the QB was on Oprah!
